I realised it’s been a while since I posted an update on the wildflower patch that we planted back at the beginning of this month. It’s been a tough couple of weeks as I’m really impatient when it comes to plants & flowers!
But I’m happy to report that things are progressing nicely… there are a few bare patches here & there but the majority of it seems to be coming along π
The Rainbow mix we used and the Cosmos seem to be doing well, whereas the Borage doesn’t seem to want to grow… we’ll just have to wait & see!
Once we remove the Daffodil leaves around the tree stump, we’re going to transplant the Cornflowers which are shooting up in the pots in the backyard.
I’ve also planted a row of Sunflowers along the back wall to make up for the patchiness!
And lastly, the pot of birdseed is also doing really well π
It still seems like it’s going to take forever for the flowers to come, but my other half assures me that it won’t be too long now! I will update again when I see the first bud π
It is going to look wonderful when it starts flowering and I look forward to seeing the photos. For some unknown reason I can never grow borage here π
Thanks Caroline – I can’t wait for them all to flower!
Strange about the Borage not growing where you are, is it something to do with your soil? We have a bare patch at one end of the wildflower area where the borage just hasn’t taken… so I think it’s finicky anyway π
Good luck Sharon. I’m sure everything will sprout and blossom as soon as we get that warm weather we’ve been promised! Good to see your bird seed plot.
Brilliant wildflowers, I hope it comes very good, as I think would it.
Thanks Bob, fingers crossed in another few weeks we’ll start to see flowers!
Thanks Phil – we don’t get the same weather as you in the UK, even though we’re just across the Irish Sea! I hear you’re basking in 25-28 degrees this weekend… we’ve got 15 degrees max!
The bird seed pot is all grass at the moment π
